The annual Skidmore Student Exhibition, sponsored by the college’s Department of Art & Art History, will be on exhibit in Schick Art Gallery from January 29 through February 24. Guest juror, New York City painter John L. Moore, will select a number of works in a variety of mediums completed by Skidmore students during 2007. Original ceramics, communication design, drawing and painting, electronic media, fiber arts, metals, photography, printmaking, and sculpture will be submitted. Approximately one third of submissions are typically chosen for exhibit, and around 200 entries are received annually. Over $1000 in prizes and gift certificates will be awarded by the juror for outstanding work and will be announced at the opening reception on January 29th. These prizes are funded through donations made by friends of the gallery, campus organizations and community businesses.
